The Moving Around Pender Alternative Transportation Society is located on Pender Island, British Columbia, one of the smaller islands located between Vancouver Island and the mainland. As a small rural community with no public transit options, the group has come together to promote alternatives to the single passenger automobile such as bike routes, car sharing, community bus and multi-use path networks. Meetings are typically monthly and open to all. Contact via map.contact@movingaroundpender.ca

MAP began as an “adhocracy”, a grass roots citizens group and operated under the name Paths on Pender from 2006. It was incorporated under the BC Societies Act in August 2008.

Membership is $5/yr or $20 for five years and is open to all residents of Pender and anyone else interested in promoting transportation alternatives. Mailing address: MAPats c/o Niall Parker, 3354 Port Washington Rd, Pender Island, BC V0N 2M1
